Mason Aeschbacher Drum Teacher, BFA, MM

Mason Aeschbacher is an experienced and accomplished musician, dance accompanist, composer, and choreographer.  Having studied drumset and percussion since the age of twelve, Mason earned his BFA in Jazz Performance from the University of Utah in 2004.

Mason currently accompanies modern dance technique classes for Utah Valley University’s nationally acclaimed Modern Dance Department and has over ten years of professional modern dance accompaniment experience.  Mason is considered one of Utah’s foremost authorities on South American, particularly Brazilian, percussion, as well as the art of dance accompaniment.

Mason recently earned his Master’s degree from the University of Utah’s Jazz Studies program, and now holds a Master of Music in the field.  Mason currently plays percussion in several Salt Lake City bands including techno band Hamilton Beach and the rock band, Giant, and is the musical director of Samba Fogo, a dance company that features live drumming.
